The Pacific Island nation of Niue and SPREPs Pacific Invasive Species Management Support Service (PRISMSS) co-hosted a special panel event at COP28 together with key partners such as the Green Climate Fund.

Restoring Island Resilience | Program Overview 

We are supporting efforts by the Pacific Regional Invasive Species Management Support Service (PRISMSS) to scale up the management of invasive species as a key approach for increasing climate resilience in Pacific Island nations. 

 

The following video products were developed in support of panel events that were held at COP27 (November 2022) and the CBD COP15 (December 2022).

This short animation shows how the removal of rats can help to increase the health and productivity of coral reef systems.

The New Zealand Minister for Climate Change recorded this short video statement in support of efforts by PRISMSS to scale up the management of invasive species as a key climate adaptation tool for the Pacific Islands region.

We supported the launch of the PRISMSS Restoring Island Resilience program in Apia, Samoa in September 2023.
